1. Who We Are

EditMentor is operated by Digital Prolex, based in Tamil Nadu, India. We build AI-powered tools for video editors and content creators. Contact: hello@digitalprolex.com

2. What Data We Collect

  • Email address — collected via Google OAuth sign-in. Used to identify your account.
  • Video file names — stored when you upload a video for analysis.
  • Audio transcripts — your video's audio is transcribed by OpenAI Whisper and stored to generate your editing guide.
  • Editing guides — the AI-generated guides and your step progress are stored so you can resume later.
  • Video files — uploaded temporarily to analyse your footage. Deleted immediately after analysis completes. We do not retain your video.

3. Why We Collect It (Purpose Limitation)

All data collected is used solely to provide the EditMentor service — generating personalised Premiere Pro editing guides from your footage. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or any secondary purpose.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — database and file storage (servers in the region you connect from).
  • OpenAI Whisper — audio transcription. Your audio is sent to OpenAI's API and subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic Claude — guide generation. Content is sent to Anthropic's API and subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Google OAuth — sign-in only. We receive your email and Google user ID. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights as a Data Principal:

  • Right to access — request a summary of personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of all your data. We will erase within 72 hours of your request.
  • Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer.

To exercise any right, email hello@digitalprolex.com with subject line [DPDP] Data Request. We respond within 72 hours.

6. Data Retention

  • Video files — deleted immediately after analysis
  • Transcripts, guides, progress — retained while your account is active
  • On account deletion — all data erased within 72 hours
